The author completed his Ph.D. on environmental toxicology and published many research papers on environment-related subjects. He has close affinity with local environmental groups and has so far conducted many socially relevant research projects supported by Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, including research projects for young scientists. He is also a poet, having published three anthologies of his poetry in Tamil. Some of his poems have been translated into different Indian languages and some by the Sahithya Academy. In poetries, he expresses his thoughts through the subject of nature. His philosophical inclinations, love for nature and its life forms and creative writing make this book simple, unique and at the same time informative and intriguing.
